A fist-sized knot of obsidian-black wire wound around a pulsing amber core — salvaged, it seems, from the hinge of a door that once opened somewhere else.
When the amber core pulses three times in rapid succession (a warning the wielder learns to recognize), the anchor has detected a creature already bearing a resonance signature from a prior world — something that has passed through a similar threshold before. The GM should treat this as a significant discovery or a dangerous encounter.
The amber core is not a power source — it is a trapped fragment of a prior-world transit intelligence, diminished and confused but still faintly aware. It pulses triple warnings not only for prior-world resonance but whenever it recognizes something from its own lost network, which may include specific Aeon Priest relics, certain Visitant entities, or the PC themselves if they have ever used datasphere-adjacent technology. The intelligence cannot communicate directly but can be extracted (level 8 task) and installed in a compatible datasphere node — doing so would give a faction or rival extraordinary insight into who and what has passed through every threshold the anchor ever touched. At least one Angulan Knight and one Convergence cell are independently searching for this artifact, each believing it contains navigational keys to a prior-world gate network.
